Compare several areas in MycoRadar, then choose a loop suited to your experience, the time available and the day's conditions. Check weather, elevation, transport, permitted parking, closures, phone coverage and local rules with official sources. Save an offline map when necessary and tell someone your route and expected return time. Prepare a nearby fallback area and define a point where you will turn back. In the field, stay on terrain that matches your abilities and adapt to the obstacles actually present. An interesting score never justifies leaving a safe route, entering a restricted area or continuing when the weather deteriorates.
