Conditions and season
What weather is favourable for mushrooms?
MycoWiki answer
What weather is favourable for mushrooms?
There is no universal weather combination that switches mushrooms on. A relatively wet period may create useful context, but its effect depends on earlier conditions, temperature, wind, exposure, canopy cover and the soil's ability to retain water. Check the forecast first for walking safety, then use MycoRadar to compare several areas instead of searching for one perfect value. Once outside, observe differences between forest edge, closed woodland, sheltered hollows and exposed slopes. Weather helps you form a field hypothesis, but only direct observation can show what is actually present on that visit.
